Itinerary
Day 1 Sat: Alice Springs Depart Alice Springs at 8.00am.
Commence the journey travelling along the Tanami Track. Tonight experience
your first wilderness bush camp and enjoy the Australian outback at its best. Share a
welcome drink with your crew and fellow travelling companions.
Bush Camp: Tanami Desert, 2 nights. (LD)
Day 2 Sun: Tanami Desert
Traverse the ever changing scenery of the Tanami Desert. Pass the Granites
and visit Australia's most remote outback roadhouse at Rabbit Flat. (BLD)
Day 3 Mon: Wolfe Creek Crater
Continue to the Wolfe Creek Meteorite Crater, the second largest in the
world. Visit the remnants of the mining town Old Halls Creek and see the unique China
Wall.

Day 4 Tue: Bungle Bungle National Park
Travel via remote, rocky tracks into the Bungle Bungle wilderness, known
as Purnululu to the Aboriginal people. This spectacular rock formation consists of
dome-shaped mountains, sheer walls and deep gorges covering an area of 500 square
kilometres.

Day 5 Wed: Bungle Bungles
Today explore the Bungle Bungle National Park. The rounded rock beehive
towers of the Bungles are delicate sandstone formations encased in a skin of iron oxide
(orange bands) and Cyanobacteria (dark green bands). Visit Cathedral Gorge with fine white
sand underfoot and explore spectacular Echidna Chasm. (BLD)
Day 6 Thu: Fitzroy Crossing
Leaving the mysterious red Bungle Bungle domes behind, stop at Halls
Creek. The red rock formations of the Kimberley become apparent on the journey towards
Fitzroy Crossing.

Day 7 Fri: Geikie Gorge Broome
Enjoy a cruise through majestic Geikie
Gorge, formed by the Fitzroy River tunnelling its way through the Napier Range. Look out
for crocodiles and sawfish. This afternoon continue the journey to the historic pearling
port of Broome, a popular tropical hideaway.
Camp: Broome, 2 nights. (BLD)
Day 8 Sat: Broome Cable Beach
Enjoy a morning tour of the points of interest in Broome including the
Japanese Cemetery and Chinatown. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore or
simply relax. You may like to end the day at famous Cable Beach, which stretches for over
20km of the Indian Ocean coastline. (B)
Day 9 Sun: Tunnel Creek Windjana Gorge
Travel to the port of Derby, situated on the edge of the King Sound. Visit
the famous Boab Prison Tree, used by the first police as an overnight holding cell.
Inspect the unusual formation at Tunnel Creek, where a stream flows through a natural
subterranean passage in the ranges (conditions permitting). Continue to the impressive
Windjana Gorge with its tall black cliffs for overnight camp.

Day 10 Mon: Kimberley Gorges
Cross the King Leopold Range today and travel along the Gibb River Road.
Explore a gorge, with time for a refreshing swim. The Kimberley gorges are among the most
colourful and spectacular in Australia.

Day 11 Tue: El Questro
Travel through some of the most rugged terrain in the Kimberley. Pass
gorges, creeks and waterholes. Cross many dry riverbeds, including the Durack River on our
way to El Questro Wilderness Park.
Camp: El Questro Wilderness Park, 2 nights. (BLD)
Day 12 Wed: Emma Gorge
Enjoy a guided walk through Emma Gorge this morning, where you will be
rewarded with time for a refreshing swim in the waterhole. The afternoon will be free for
optional tours or perhaps simply relax. (BLD)
Day 13 Thu: Kununurra
Observe the magnificent scenery en route to Parry Lagoon Nature Reserve. Join the Kimberley Dreamtime
Experience. An Aboriginal guide will show you the bird life and tell you about traditional
hunting and fishing methods. They will join us on the vehicle and travel to Wyndham to the
spectacular 5 Rivers Lookout. Enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding region. This
afternoon travel to Kununurra.

Day 14 Fri: Ord River
Enjoy an early morning adventure cruise along the Ord River from Kununurra
to Lake Argyle. Visit the Durack Homestead before continuing across the border into the
Northern Territory.
Bush Camp: Victoria River Area. (BLD)
Day 15 Sat: Katherine Gorge
Travel east along the Victoria Highway to Katherine Gorge. This afternoon
enjoy a cruise on this magnificent waterway and see the gorge at its finest, as the cliff
faces reflect the colours of the setting sun.
Camp: Katherine Gorge National Park. (BLD)
Day 16 Sun: Edith Falls Darwin
Travel through the township of Katherine en route to Edith Falls, where
there is time for a refreshing swim. This afternoon, journey via Adelaide River visiting
the War Cementry, a site dedicated to the World War II air raids. Continue to Darwin,
arriving at approximately 5.00pm. You will be transferred to Darwin Airport to connect
with your onward flight (flights to depart after 6.00pm.) (BL)
