Itinerary
Day 1 Sat: Alice Springs Depart Alice Springs at 8.00am.
Travel along the Tanami Track. Pass the MacDonnell Ranges, desert scrub
and red sand hills further on down the Track. Enjoy a welcome drink with your crew and
fellow travelling companions.
Bush Camp: Tanami Desert, 2 nights. (LD)
Day 2 Sun: Tanami Desert
Traverse the ever changing scenery of the Tanami Desert. Pass the
Granites, see signs of abandoned stations, homesteads and visit Australia's most remote
roadhouse at Rabbit Flat. (BLD)
Day 3 Mon: Wolfe Creek Crater
Drive to the Wolfe Creek Meteorite Crater, the second largest in the
world. Visit the remnants of the mining town Old Halls Creek and see the unique China
Wall.
Bush Camp: Halls Creek Area. (BLD)
Day 4 Tue: Bungle Bungle
Travel via remote, rocky tracks into the Bungle Bungle wilderness. This
spectacular rock formation consists of dome-shaped mountains, sheer walls and deep gorges
covering an expansive area of 500 square kilometres.
Bush Camp: Bungle Bungle National Park, 2 nights. (BLD)
Day 5 Wed: Bungle Bungle
Explore the natural beauty of the Bungle Bungle wilderness. Visit
Cathedral Gorge, enjoying the walk along the creek bed into the gorge with fine white sand
underfoot. Explore spectacular Echidna Chasm, where the red stony path leads into a narrow
shady gorge. (BLD)
Day 6 Thu: Fitzroy Crossing
Leaving the mysterious red Bungle Bungle domes behind, stop at Halls
Creek. The red rock formations of the Kimberley become apparent on the journey towards
Fitzroy Crossing.
Camp: Fitzroy River Lodge. (BLD)
Day 7 Fri: Geikie Gorge Broome
Enjoy a cruise through majestic Geikie Gorge this morning. Continue to
Broome, arriving at approximately 5.00pm. You will be transferred to Cable Beach Club
Resort or to connect with your onward flight (flights to depart after 6.00pm). (BL)
