Itinerary

Day 1 Sat: Alice Springs

You will be met at Alice Springs Airport (flights to arrive prior to 1.00pm) or at the AAT Kings Office, 74 Todd Street, at 1.30pm. Enjoy a guided tour of the town. This evening enjoy a welcome drink with your crew.

Day 2 Sun: Tanami Track

Traverse the ever-changing scenery of the remote Tanami Desert. Pass The Granites and Rabbit Flat, Australia's most remote outback roadhouse.

Day 3 Mon: Wolfe Creek

Cross into Western Australia, visit Wolfe Creek Meteorite Crater and see the remnants of Old Halls Creek.

Day 4 Tue: Geikie Gorge

The red rock formations of the Kimberley become apparent today on the journey to Fitzroy River. Cruise through spectacular Geikie Gorge (dry season only).

Day 5 Wed: Broome

Our journey continues westward to the historic pearling port of Broome.

Day 6 Thu: Broome at leisure

A free day for you to explore tropical Broome. (B)

Day 7 Fri: Derby

Travel to Derby to see the Boab Prison Tree, then deep into the Kimberley. Inspect the unusual formation at Tunnel Creek (conditions permitting).

Day 8 Sat: Kimberley Gorges

Take an early morning walk through impressive Windjana Gorge. Crossing the King Leopold Range travel along the Gibb River Road.

Day 9 Sun: El Questro

Journey through some of the most rugged terrain of the Kimberley to El Questro Wilderness Park.

Day 10 Mon: El Questro

Today is free for you to explore El Questro Wilderness Park. Enjoy a number of optional tours. (BLD)

Day 11 Tue: Kununrra

Enjoy a guided walk through Emma Gorge this morning. This afternoon continue the journey to Kununurra.

Day 12: Wed Lake Argyle

Tour the Kununurra region visiting the Durack Homestead and enjoy a wildlife spotting cruise on Lake Argyle. (BD)

Day 13 Thu: Katherine

Depart Kununurra and travel across the Northern Territory border to Katherine. Enjoy a cruise through Katherine Gorge.

Day 14 Fri: Litchfield

Experience the wonder of Litchfield National Park, before continuing to Darwin.

Day 15 Sat: Darwin at leisure

Relax and enjoy the sights of Darwin. Perhaps visit the Mindil Beach Markets. (B)

Day 16 Sun: Kakadu – Rock Art

Venture to Kakadu National Park. Visit the Bowali Visitor Centre and journey to Ubirr. Cruise on Yellow Water Billabong.

Camp: Gagudju Lodge, Cooinda, Kakadu National Park. (BLD)

Day 17 Mon: Mataranka

Travel to Mataranka. There will be time for a relaxing swim in the thermal pools.

Day 18 Tue: Tennant Creek

Travel through Daly Waters and see the John Flynn Memorial at Three Ways. Continue to the town of Tennant Creek.

Day 19 Wed: Alice Springs

Journey to Karlwekarlwe (Devils Marbles). Time is available for you to explore and photograph these amazing formations. Later, continue to Alice Springs.

Day 20 Thu: Alice Springs at leisure

A free day to relax or explore Alice Springs. An optional 4WD Safari to Palm Valley may be available today. Ask your Tour Director.

Day 21 Fri: Kings Canyon

Climb to the rim of Kings Canyon for spectacular views of Watarrka National Park. Travel to Kings Creek Station.

Day 22 Sat: Kata Tjuta (Olgas)

Continue to Ayers Rock Resort. Visit the dome-shaped Kata Tjuta (Olgas), then enjoy a glass of wine and nibbles while watching Uluru (Ayers Rock) at sunset.

Day 23 Sun: Uluru (Ayers Rock)

Morning climb to the summit of Uluru, followed by a guided tour of the base.

Alternatively, you may prefer to join the famous Liru Walk and enjoy a guided walk with a local Aboriginal guide. (BD)

Day 24 Mon: Depart Ayers Rock

You will be transferred to Ayers Rock Airport to connect with your onward flight (flights anytime). (B)
