Itinerary

Day 1 Sun: Arrive Launceston

Your Tour Director will meet you at Launceston Airport and transfer you to the hotel. This afternoon enjoy a tour of Launceston and visit to the Swiss Village of Grindelwald. Tonight enjoy a welcome drink with your Tour Director.

Accommodation: Hotel Grand Chancellor, Launceston.

Day 2 Mon: Kunnara Kunna

This morning travel across the Batman Bridge to George Town; explore The Grove, a National Trust building and one of the earliest homes in Tasmania, and enjoy views of Weldborough Pass.

Visit Kunnara Kunna and hear the history of the region. You will also discover how the Aboriginal people hunted and how tribes were organised. Later, we visit the Bridestowe Lavender Farm (early December to early February).

Day 3 Tue: Freycinet

We discover the beautiful East Coast today and experience picturesque Freycinet National Park on a Ranger guided walk. We also take in the scenery of the Tasman Peninsula and overnight in historic Port Arthur.

Day 4 Wed: Port Arthur

Explore the grounds and ruins of Port Arthur Historic Site, Australia's most infamous prison during the convict era, on a guided walking tour followed by a cruise around the eerie Isle of the Dead. This afternoon we visit the spectacular natural coastal formations of Tasman's Arch, Devil's Kitchen and The Blowhole. Tonight why not take an optional lantern lit Ghost Tour? (B)

Day 5 Thu: Richmond – Hobart

We cross the narrow Eaglehawk Neck this morning and visit the charming historic village of Richmond, which boasts Australia's oldest bridge, built in 1823. Continue to Bonorong Wildlife Park to see native animals including the Tasmanian Devil. Later, enjoy a guided tour of the Cadbury Chocolate Factory and taste the delicious produce. (Factory tours are not always available – a visit to the Sorell Fruit Farm is offered on these occasions). This afternoon you have time at leisure in Hobart.

Day 6 Fri: Depart Hobart

You will be transferred to Hobart Airport for your onward flight. (B)
