ItineraryDay 1 Tue: Arrive DarwinOn arrival in Darwin you will be transferred to your hotel. This afternoon join a city orientation tour of Darwin. Enjoy a welcome drink with your Tour Director and travelling companions this evening. Accommodation: Mirambeena Resort, Darwin, 2 nights. Day 2 Wed: Litchfield National ParkWe follow the Stuart Highway via the township of Batchelor to the tropical haven of Litchfield National Park. View beautiful Florence Falls and stop at Wangi Falls where there is the opportunity for a swim. Return to Darwin where the evening is at leisure for you to explore. (B) Day 3 Thu: Kakadu National ParkThis morning we travel deep into Kakadu National Park. We stop at the Bowali Visitor Centre, before continuing on to Nourlangie Rock take a short walk to view ancient Aboriginal rock art. This afternoon we join a cruise on the famous Yellow Water Billabong. Search for saltwater crocodiles and the amazing range of bird life that this region is renowned for. Camp: Kakadu National Park. (BLD) Day 4 Fri: Nitmiluk National ParkTravel via the gold mining town of Pine Creek to Katherine. We stop at beautiful Edith Falls where these is time for a swim, before setting up camp in Nitmiluk National Park, home to spectacular Katherine Gorge. Enjoy an afternoon cruise through spectacular Katherine Gorge, with a chance to see freshwater crocodiles sunning themselves on the riverbanks and many species of birds. Camp: Nitmiluk National Park. (BLD) Day 5 Sat: KununurraDepart Nitmiluk National Park and heading west we travel via Timber Creek and Victoria River. Crossing the border into Western Australia, we traverse large cattle stations to the township of Kununurra. Camp: Kununurra, 2 nights. (BLD) Day 6: Sun KununurraThis morning we explore Mirima (Hidden Valley) National Park and admire the views from Kelly's Knob Lookout. Later, visit the historic Durack Homestead and enjoy a cruise on mighty Lake Argyle, Australia's largest man-made lake. Enjoy the majestic scenery and see a fantastic array of wildlife in this unique ecosystem. (BD) Day 7 Mon: Emma GorgeWe depart Kununurra and travel to Emma Gorge Resort. Here we take a guided walk into Emma Gorge. There is time to swim in the crystal clear water at the base of the waterfall, before continuing along the Gibb River Road to El Questro Wilderness Park. Spanning over a million acres, El Questro Wilderness Park is home to rugged ranges, ancient gorges and pristine waterfalls. We set up camp near the Pentecost River and El Questro Station Township. Camp: El Questro Wilderness Park, 2 nights. (BLD) Day 8 Tue: El Questro Wilderness ParkToday is free for you to explore El Questro Wilderness Park. Perhaps take an optional cruise through Chamberlain Gorge, a fresh waterhole abounded by tropical vegetation, and see Aboriginal rock art. Ask your Tour Director for details on the many optional activities that are available at the El Questro Station Township today. (BLD) Day 9 Wed: Gibb River RoadToday we journey through some of the harshest terrain of the Kimberley. Departing El Questro Wilderness Park, we skirt the Cockburn Range and cross the King Leopold Range, then continue along the famous Gibb River Road, stopping at Manning Gorge (conditions permitting). Bush Camp: Gibb River Road. (BLD) Day 10 Thu: Kimberley GorgesThis morning we take a walk into beautiful Galvans Gorge. Later, we inspect the unusual formation at Tunnel Creek (conditions permitting), before continuing on to spectacular Windjana Gorge. Rising abruptly from the surrounding floodplain, some parts of the walls of Windjana Gorge are up to 100 metres in height. Bush Camp: Windjana Gorge. (BLD) Day 11 Fri: BroomeWe leave the famous Gibb River Road today, stopping to see the Boab Prison Tree and Myall Bore. We then head south to Derby and visit the Circular Wharf, before continuing to the historic pearling port of Broome. See the sights of Broome including Chinatown, the Japanese Cemetery, Streeters Jetty and visit Ganthaeume Point for sweeping views of the Indian Ocean. This evening we watch a breathtaking sunset over famous Cable Beach. Camp: Broome, 2 nights. (BLD) Day 12 Sat: Broome at leisureA free day for you to explore tropical Broome. Cable Beach is only a short walk away. Simply sit back, relax and perhaps take a refreshing swim. This afternoon you may like to take a camel ride along Cable Beach at sunset. Ask your Tour Director for details. (B) Day 13 Sun: Depart BroomeYour tour concludes this morning after breakfast. You will be transferred to Broome Airport to connect with your onward flight.
