Itinerary

Highlights   • Litchfield National Park • Great Barrier Reef

Day 1: Kata Tjuta (Olgas) – Uluru (Ayers Rock)

On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel (flight to arrive prior to 1.00pm). This afternoon visit Kata Tjuta and enjoy the spectacle of sunset at Uluru with nibbles and a glass of wine. Accommodation: Desert Gardens Hotel, Ayers Rock Resort.

Day 2: Uluru (Ayers Rock) – Alice Springs

A choice of Uluru Sunrise, Climb and Base (Y18) or Uluru Sunrise and Guided Cultural Base Walk (Y41) (see page 19 for itineraries). Travel to Alice Springs this afternoon. Accommodation: Alice Springs Resort, 2 nights.

Day 3: West MacDonnell Ranges – Desert Park

Travel through the West MacDonnell Ranges and visit Simpsons Gap, Angkerle (Standley Chasm), then Ormiston Gorge for a picnic lunch and swimming. Continue to the Alice Springs Desert Park before returning to Alice Springs. (L)

Day 4: Alice Springs – Darwin

The morning is free to relax before your transfer to the airport for your flight to Darwin (flight not included in tour cost). On arrival your transfer to the hotel is included. This afternoon is at leisure (tour options availabe).Accommodation: Darwin Central Hotel, Darwin.

Day 5: Darwin – Kakadu

Travel deep into Kakadu National Park. Visit Nourlangie Rock and see Aboriginal rock art. After lunch join the famous Yellow Water Billabong Cruise. Visit the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre. Accommodation: Gagudju Crocodile Holiday Inn, Jabiru. (L)

Day 6: Kakadu – Darwin

This morning stop at Ubirr with a short walk to view rock art. Join the Guluyambi Cruise along the East Alligator River in search of saltwater crocodiles and a possible visit to Arnhem Land. Visit the Bowali Visitors Centre. There is time for an optional scenic flight (own expense), before returning to Darwin. Accommodation: Darwin Central Hotel, Darwin, 2 nights. (L)

Day 7: Litchfield National Park

Leaving Darwin, travel south to Litchfield National Park to view Florence and Tolmer Falls. Travel to Wangi Falls, a natural waterhole where you can relax and swim if you wish. (L)

Day 8: Darwin – Cairns

You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Cairns (flight not included in tour cost). Upon arrival in Cairns, your transfer to the hotel is included. Remainder of day is free. Accommodation: Oasis Resort, Cairns, 3 nights.

Day 9: Kuranda Railway – Skyrail – Tjapukai

Travel on the scenic Kuranda railway to the picturesque township of Kuranda. Board the spectacular Skyrail, a unique cable car journey over the rainforest canopy.
Be entertained by the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park, where legends of the Dreamtime are brought to life.

Day 10: Outer Barrier Reef Cruise

Cruise to the Outer Barrier Reef and view magnificent coral and sealife through the windows of a semi-submersible boat. There is time for swimming and snorkelling over the reef (equipment provided) and coral viewing. A tropical buffet lunch is included today. (L)

Day 11: Depart Cairns

Tour concludes this morning. A transfer to the airport for your flight is included (flight not included in tour price).

Note: During the months November to April access to Ubirr and East Alligator River is not always possible. Alternative touring will be arranged.
