ULURU - KATA TJUTA NATIONAL PARK INFORMATION
Located 443km from Alice Springs lies the 1325 hectare Uluru - Kata Tjuta
National Park. The park is listed as a World Heritage Area for both its natural and
cultural values. The natural values are the outstanding geological processes that are
apparent with the formations of Uluru and Kata Tjuta. The cultural values
are the associations between the cultural landscape and Anangu, Traditional
Aboriginal Owners of the land. Anangu maintain their heritage through their
Tjukurpa, which are their stories and law. A visit to the Uluru - Kata Tjuta
Cultural Centre whilst on your AAT Kings tour will enrich your knowledge about the natural
and cultural values of the National Park. Uluru measures 348 metres above the
ground and 9.4km around the base. AAT Kings offers tours that include a guided walk to Mutitjulu
Waterhole, a special area for Anangu. The tallest of the 36 mysterious domes of
Kata Tjuta, stands 546 metres tall. Travel with AAT Kings to Kata Tjuta and
take a walk at Walpa Gorge or the Valley of the Winds. The Uluru - Kata Tjuta
National Park entry fee is not included with tours that enter the National Park. The entry
fee is $25.00 per adult and is an additional compulsory charge at time of booking. The
National Park entry ticket is valid for 3 consecutive days. This is a government charge
and was correct at the time of printing. It is subject to change without notice. Children
15 years and under are not required to pay the entry fee. You must carry your ticket with
you every time you enter the National Park or you will be required to purchase another
ticket. Anangu, Traditional Owners, would prefer that visitors choose not to climb
Uluru. The climb may be closed without notice due to weather or cultural reasons.
No refunds will be given in this situation. |
