Day 1: Kata Tjuta (Olgas) – Uluru (Ayers Rock)

On arrival at Ayers Rock Airport (flight to arrive prior to 1.00pm) you will be transferred to your hotel. The afternoon is spent touring Kata Tjuta, including a walk at Walpa Gorge. Travel to the sunset viewing area to enjoy nibbles and a glass of wine and watch the effect of the setting sun on the colour of Uluru. Don't forget your camera! Accommodation: Ayers Rock Resort – choice of accommodation.

On Day 1 there is the option to upgrade from the afternoon Kata Tjuta and Uluru Sunset Tour (Y13) to the Kata Tjuta Valley of the Winds Walk, Sunset and Barbecue Dinner Tour (Y14), at an extra cost.

Day 2: Uluru (Ayers Rock) – Kings Canyon

This morning there is the option to do the Uluru Sunrise, Climb and Base Tour (Y18) or for the non-climbers, the Uluru Sunrise and Guided Cultural Base Walk (Y41). Both tours include a visit to Mutitjulu Waterhole and the Uluru – Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. Time is available to take an optional helicopter flight (own expense). This afternoon travel to Kings Canyon Resort.

This morning join your guide for the rocky climb to the canyon rim for superb views of Watarrka National Park (for those with a good level of fitness, supportive footwear essential). Alternatively explore the canyon floor (an easier, shady walk). Travel on to Alice Springs or back to Ayers Rock Resort this afternoon.

Note: During the hotter months, the Kings Canyon rim climb may not be available in hot weather conditions. An alternative itinerary including a guided walks at Kathleen Springs and along the Kings Canyon creek-bed may apply.
