Itinerary

Day 1 Sat: Arrive Ayers Rock

On arrival at Ayers Rock you will be transferred to your hotel. This evening enjoy a glass of wine and nibbles as you watch sunset over Uluru.

Accommodation: Sails in the Desert Hotel, Ayers Rock Resort, 2 nights.

Day 2 Sun: Uluru (Ayers Rock) – Kata Tjuta (Olgas)

This morning you may wish to join an early tour to view sunrise over Uluru. Walk into Mutitjulu Waterhole and stop at the Uluru – Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. You may wish to join the famous Liru Walk. Visit Kata Tjuta and walk into Walpa Gorge. Enjoy sunset with a glass of sparkling wine, followed by a delicious barbecue dinner under the stars. (B) (HD)

Day 3 Mon: Kings Canyon

Travel to Kings Canyon today. For the energetic, a guided climb to the Canyon rim will be rewarded with views of Watarrka National Park. Accommodation: Kings Canyon Resort, Kings Canyon. (B)

Day 4 Tue: Alice Springs

Leaving Watarrka National Park behind, we travel through to Alice Springs. See the sights of Alice Springs, including the Royal Flying Doctor Service, School of the Air and the Telegraph Station. Stop for panoramic views from Anzac Hill.

Day 5 Wed: Aboriginal Culture – Alice Springs Desert Park

This morning spend time with a local Aboriginal guide on a Desert Discovery Tour. This afternoon we travel to Standley Chasm, Simpsons Gap and visit the Alice Springs Desert Park. (B)

Day 6 Thu: Alice Springs – Tennant Creek

Travelling north we stop at Karlwekarlwe (Devils Marbles). On arrival in Tennant Creek we join a tour of the historic Battery Hill Precinct. Tour an underground mine and enjoy a delicious barbecue dinner.

Day 7 Fri: Mataranka – Katherine

Visit the historic Daly Waters Hotel. Stop at the tropical oasis of Mataranka.

Day 8 Sat: Katherine Gorge – Kakadu

We join our local guide on an early morning cruise through Katherine Gorge. Visit the Nitmiluk Visitor Centre and then continue deep into Kakadu National Park. Join an afternoon cruise on Yellow Water Billabong.

Day 9 Sun: Kakadu – Darwin

Travel to Ubirr and climb to the top of this rocky outcrop for rewarding views. We stop at Bowali Visitor Centre. This afternoon travel to Darwin and enjoy a sightseeing tour.

Day 10 Mon: Litchfield National Park

This morning we travel to Litchfield National Park to see beautiful Florence Falls, Wangi Falls and the Magnetic Termite Mounds. (B)

Day 11 Tue: Darwin at leisure

Enjoy a day at leisure in Darwin today. (B)

Day 12 Wed: Darwin – Katherine

This morning join your Western Australian Tour Director. Head south towards Katherine. Stop at the Adelaide River War Cemetery. This afternoon enjoy a cruise through spectacular Katherine Gorge.

Day 13 Thu: Ord River Cruise

Travel to mighty Lake Argyle. Cruise on the placid waters of the Ord River to Kununurra.

Day 14 Fri: Kununurra

See the Ord River Irrigation Scheme, Hidden Valley National Park and visit Kelly's Knob Lookout for Panoramic views. (B)

Day 15 Sat: Wyndham

This morning travel to Parry Lagoon Nature Reserve. Your Aboriginal hosts will welcome you to the region in a traditional ceremony. Continue to Wyndham to the 5 Rivers Lookout. Visit Warriu Park to see Dreamtime Statues. Continue to El Questro.

Day 16 Sun: El Questro

Cruise through Chamberlain Gorge, abounded by tropical vegetation. At Emma Gorge Resort there is time to sit by the pool or to hike into Emma Gorge. (B)

Day 17 Mon: Argyle Diamond Mine

Today visit the Argyle Diamond Mine for a guided tour. Continue to Halls Creek.

Day 18 Tue: Geikie Gorge

Travel to the remote township of Fitzroy Crossing. This afternoon enjoy a cruise through spectacular Geikie Gorge.

Day 19 Wed: Derby – Broome

Travel to Derby and see the famous Boab Prison Tree, before continuing to Broome. Directly opposite the hotel is Cable Beach.

Enjoy your day at leisure to explore this tropical hideaway. (B)

Day 21 Fri: Depart Broome
