Kakadu Highlights

Day 1: Darwin – Kakadu

Depart Darwin at 6.30am. Travel into Kakadu National Park. Cross the South Alligator River and explore the World Heritage Area of Ubirr. Climb up through the ancient Aboriginal rock art galleries to the lookout for the view over the surrounding wetlands. Visit the Bowali Visitor Centre with its informative displays, then continue to Cooinda to join a cruise on Yellow Water Billabong. Accommodation: Permanent Tents (tented), Gagudju Cooinda Lodge Budget Rooms (budget) or Gagudju Cooinda Lodge (standard). (L)

Day 2: Kakadu – Darwin

Visit Nourlangie Rock and Anbangbang Billabong. Venture to Barramundi Gorge and walk to a small waterfall and clear plunge pool with the opportunity to swim. Late afternoon depart Kakadu National Park, viewing Jabiru Township and pausing for a dinner stop (own expense) at the Bark Hut Inn. Arrive in Darwin at approximately 9.30pm. (L)
