Itinerary
Day 1: Alice Springs - Uluru (Ayers Rock).
Depart Alice Springs at 7.30am. Travel south through the Western McDonnell and James
Ranges to Ayers Rock Resort. Visit Kata Tjuta (Olgas). Explore Walpa Gorge,
then watch sunset at Uluru (Ayers Rock). Accommodation: Outback Pioneer Budget
Rooms (budget) or Outback Pioneer Hotel (standard).
Day 2: Uluru (Ayers Rock)
View sunrise over Uluru. You may like to climb to the top of the monolith.
Continue on a guided base tour, before visiting the Uluru-Kata Tjuta
Cultural Centre. Travel to Kings Canyon. (B) Accommodation: Kings Canyon
Lodge (budget) or Kings Canyon Resort (standard).
Day 3: Kings Canyon - Alice Springs
This morning join a guided climb to the rim of Kings Canyon. An easier walk along the
boulder-strewn Canyon floor is also available. Continue to Alice Springs this afternoon. Accommodation:
Melanka Lodge (budget) or Aurora Alice Springs (standard). (B)
Day 4: Palm Valley
Join your 4WD tour today into the oasis in the desert that is Palm Valley. Visit an
Aboriginal community at Hermannsburg. Journey down the Finke River through spectacular
mountain scenery and rocky escarpment country. Take a guided walk through Palm Valley.
Return to Alice Springs, arriving at approximately 6.00pm. |
