RENTAL CHARGES
We calculate the number of
days a vehicle is rented on a CALENDAR DAY BASIS:
- The day of pick-up is
counted as DAY 1 of the rental
- The day the vehicle is
returned is counted as the FINAL DAY of the rental
Pick-up or drop-off time is from 0800hrs to 1700 hrs at all branches.
Please ensure that you allow adequate time to complete the required paperwork when
collecting or returning your vehicle.
MINIMUM
HIRE PERIODS
Minimum rental is 5 days for all vehicles. The minimum one-way hire period is 7 days.
Please note there may be changes to these minimum rental durations during peak periods.
PICK-UP
& DROP-OFF
Pick-up and drop-off
time is between 0800 and 1630 at all branches. Please ensure that you allow adequate time
to complete the required paperwork when collecting or returning your vehicle. All vehicles
must be collected from and returned to the operator's branch.
RENTAL
EXTENSIONS
Should the
client wish to extend their rental, we will do our best to meet this request. The renter
must request the rental extension as soon as possible by ringing the Reservation Team. The
extra cost of an extended rental must be paid by credit card over the telephone on
confirmation of the rental extension or to our nearest branch prior to the commencement of
the extended rental. We reserve the right to refuse an extension of rental if the vehicle
is unavailable for the additional period. Failure to obtain authorisation will result in a
fee of $150 in addition to the daily rate.
BABY/BOOSTER SEATS
The operator
campervans can not be fitted with Baby or Booster seats. Doing so will breech the terms of
your rental agreement.
ONE-WAY RENTALS
A "rent
here, leave there" service is available for an extra A$200 between all branches.
Minimum One-Way rental period is 7 days.
CHANGE OF DROP-OFF DESTINATION
If a client changes
their final destination after the rental has commenced a fee of $700 will apply. For
example, if the rental is booked from Sydney to Darwin, but you phone us while on hire to
change the return location to Cairns, an additional fee of $700 will apply.
AVAILABILITY/CHANGE OF VEHICLE
We reserve the
right to substitute a comparable or superior vehicle at no extra cost in some
circumstances. This shall not constitute a breach of contract, and does not entitle the
renter to any refund.
ROAD
RESTRICTIONS
The
operator vehicles can only be driven on bitumen roads.
Vehicles must not come into contact with saltwater. If this happens, the full $2500 excess
will apply.
The operator reserves the right at its sole discretion to restrict vehicle movements in
certain areas due to adverse road or weather conditions. We strongly recommend you do not
drive at night in the outback areas of Australia.
LIVING
EQUIPMENT
The Living Equipment (crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, linen,
sleeping bags, pillows and towels) for all Campervans is included in the daily rental rate
at no extra cost.
FOR
YOUR PROTECTION
Personal Injury is
covered in most cases through Registration 3rd Party Insurance. The operator strongly
recommends that all clients take out travel insurance.
All vehicles are fully insured for the damage to the vehicle or to the property of a third
party. The renter is responsible for the first $2,500 (excess) of the cost of damage to
third party property or to the rented vehicle, including single vehicle accident,
windscreen and tyre damage, overhead and under body damage, towing and recovery costs,
theft, fire or break-in. This excess applies in respect of each claim, not each rental.
The excess is applicable regardless of who is at fault and must be paid at the time the
accident is reported, not at the completion of the rental. The insurance excess will be
refunded if we are successful in recovering the cost of the damages from the third party.
This process can take up to two years.
The campervan excess can be reduced, in most circumstances, by the purchase of Excess
Reduction Options.
EXCESS REDUCTION OPTION 1
The $2,500
campervan excess can be reduced to $1,000 with the purchase of Excess Reduction Option 1
at a cost of $16 per day. The maximum charge for Excess Reduction Option
1 is $800 per rental.
With Excess Reduction Option 1 the renter is responsible for the first $1,000 of ANY
ACCIDENT COST including single vehicle accident, windscreen and tyre damage,
overhead/under body damage, towing and recovery costs, theft of vehicle, fire or break in.
EXCESS REDUCTION OPTION 2
The
$2,500 campervan excess can be reduced to $220 with the purchase of Excess Reduction
Option 2 at a cost of $26 per day. The maximum charge for Excess
Reduction Option 2 is $1,300.
With Excess Reduction Option 2 the renter is responsible for the first $220 of ANY
ACCIDENT COST including single vehicle accident, windscreen and tyre damage,
overhead/under body damage, towing and recovery costs, theft of vehicle, fire or break in.
PREMIUM COVER OPTION (PCO)
Hirers
who purchase Excess Reduction Option 2, are also able to take out the Premium Cover
Option, which waives their Campervan excess liability to Nil.
Premium Cover is available for a flat fee of AU$40 per hire (irrespective of hire
duration).
PLEASE
NOTE:
Standard Excess,
Excess Reduction 1, Excess Reduction 2 and Premium Cover option do NOT cover:
(a) Excess Reduction Option 1, Excess Reduction 2 and Premium Cover (PCO) do not
cover water submersion or salt-water damage.
(b) Personal belongings are not covered. We recommend the renter does not leave
valuables in the vehicle and should take out personal insurance.
(c) Breech of Rental Agreement terms. The renter will be responsible for the total
cost of any damage. This will include any damage caused by wilful conduct e.g. sitting or
standing on the bonnet or roof of the vehicle.
(d) Bogged Vehicles The renter will be responsible for the cost to retrieve
or recover a vehicle, which has become bogged, this includes any associated costs related
to the incident eg. (under body damage), regardless of protection package taken.
(e) Incorrect use of fuel The renter will be responsible for any associated
cost if fuel is used incorrectly (fuel being diesel or petrol).
(f) The cost to replace keys which have become lost, or retrieval of keys which have
been locked in a vehicle.
VEHICLE SECURITY DEPOSIT
On pick-up of the
vehicle a Security Deposit is payable. The amount is determined by the Excess Reduction
Option selected. If the renter does not take Excess Reduction Option 1 or Excess Reduction
Option 2 the Security Deposit is $2,500 payable by cash, travellers cheques or credit
card. Should the bond be paid by credit card the amount will be debited to the renters
account immediately.
If Excess Reduction Option 1 has been taken the Security Deposit is $1,000, payable
by cash, travellers cheques or credit card. Should the bond be paid by credit
card the amount will be debited to the renters account immediately.
If Excess Reduction Option 2 or Excess Reduction 2 + PCO has been taken the Security
Deposit is $220, payable by cash, travellers cheques or credit card. Should the bond
be paid by credit card the amount will be secured by credit card imprint, the funds WILL
NOT be debited to the renters credit card.
The Security Deposit is fully refundable provided the vehicle is returned to the
branch specified at the time of booking, on time, undamaged, and with fuel and gas tanks
full.
We reserve the right to retain a $125 cleaning fee if the vehicle is not returned
with the interior in a clean condition or if the toilet and/or wastewater tank (if
applicable) not emptied prior to the return of the vehicle.
Personal Or Company Cheques Are Not Acceptable As Vehicle Security Deposits.
If the Security Deposit was paid with cash or travellers cheques, an Australian
dollar cheque will be given to the renter or the amount will be refunded onto a credit
card. For security reasons, cash amounts will not be given out on return of the vehicle.
FUEL AND LP GAS
All vehicles are supplied with a
full fuel tank and bottle of LP gas (If applicable). These must be returned full, or the
Renter will be charged accordingly.
Fuel costs approximately $1 dollar per litre at the time of printing. Fuel can cost
up to 30% more in rural or outback areas.
CREDIT CARD TRANSACTIONS
If a
credit card is presented as payment, the credit card holder will be jointly and severally
liable as a Customer.
All credit
card transactions are conducted in Australian dollars. Due to exchange rate fluctuations
there could be some variance in the amount refunded compared to the amount initially
charged. The operator accepts no liability for these variances, up or down.
PERSONAL
CHEQUES
Personal and
Company cheques will not be accepted as payment for rentals at the time of pick-up. These
must be paid to the operator 14 days prior to the commencement of the rental. Personal or
Company cheques are not acceptable as vehicle security deposits.
AGE LIMITS
Minimum
age of driver/drivers is 21 years, & must be able to provide a valid full license held
for at least one year upon collection of the vehicle.
PETS
Pets are not permitted
in our vehicles, excluding Guide Dogs.
BREAKDOWNS
AND ACCIDENT ASSISTANCE
All vehicles are fully
maintained, serviced and detailed between rentals by our experienced staff. However, minor
problems can occur. If advice or assistance for breakdown is required, support is
available to every renter throughout Australia by telephoning the operator's toll-free
information desk or calling into any of the operator's branches.
REPAIRS
During your rental small repairs may be required. Repairs up to $100
may be conducted without authorisation and will be reimbursed upon vehicle check-in with
appropriate receipts.
For amounts over $100, the operator MUST authorise repairs in advance and we will approve
repairs, provided the renter was not directly responsible for the damage.
