PROTECTION PACKAGE
Personal Injury
The Vehicle has third party insurance cover. It is likely that any other vehicle
involved in an accident also has third party insurance cover. Depending on the
circumstances of the accident, you may be entitled to claim for your personal injury
against the third party insurance of the party responsible for the accident. The extent of
such third party insurance varies in different States and Territories and the operator
strongly recommends that you take out your own Personal Injury Travel Insurance.
If you are responsible for the accident the
Vehicle's third party insurance should cover you for your liability except where you have
committed a breach of the Vehicle's third party insurance eg drink driving.
Property Damage
All vehicles are covered for damage to the vehicle or to the property of a third
party. However you are responsible up to the amount of the applicable Liability for the
cost of damage to third party property, or to the rented vehicle, windscreen and tyre
damage, overhead and underbody damage, towing and recovery costs, theft, fire or break in.
This also includes the cost of the daily rental rate for the period the vehicle is off
fleet for accident repairs (demurrage). The Liability applies in respect of each claim,
not per rental.
The Liability is applicable regardless of
who is at fault and must be paid at the time the accident is reported, not at the
completion of the rental. The Liability will be refunded if we are successful in
recovering the cost of the damages from the third party.
Standard Liability
The operator's rates include a Standard Liability of $5000 AUD. This is the maximum
amount payable for any damage etc caused to the vehicle regardless of cause.
A Security Deposit (Bond) of $5000 will be
taken. Payment is only accepted via credit card. The credit card will be processed, that
is, the full amount will be debited to the client's account immediately.
The Standard Liability can be reduced
by taking one of the following reduction options:
Liability Reduction Option 1
A Liability of $2500 applies. You can purchase this Option by paying to the operator $20
($30 Four Wheel Drives) per day. The maximum amount payable by you for this Option is
$1,000 (1,500 4wd Camper) i.e 50 days rental.
With this Option a Bond of $2500 will be
collected.
Liability Reduction Option 2 (VIP Cover)
A Liability of $250 applies. You can purchase this Option by paying to the operator $35
($45 Four Wheel Drives) per day. The maximum amount payable by you for this Option is
$1,750 (2,250 4wd Camper) i.e. 50 days rental.
With this Option a Bond of $250 will be
collected.
Security Deposit (Bond)
With Reduction Option 1 and Reduction Option 2 a Bond is payable by you to the
operator by cash, travellers cheques or by an open signed credit card (Bankcard,
Visa or MasterCard) imprint with an authorization obtained for the amount of the Bond.
Personal or company cheques are not accepted.
The Bond is fully refundable when the Vehicle is returned to the Nominated Location on
time, is full of fuel and all other terms of the Agreement have been complied with by you.
If there is damage to the Vehicle on its return, the Bond will be used to cover the cost
of such damage up to the amount of your relevant Liability. However if you breach the
terms of the Rental Contract and the Bond is insufficient to cover the damage you will be
charged for any extra cost and you shall pay that cost to the operator upon demand.
Note: If the Bond is given in cash or travellers cheques then your passport must be
presented on pick up and the refund will be by the operators cheque.

circumstances where the terms of the contract are breached.
